Looks like James Van Der Beek is without a home again. First the Creek and now Apartment 23. ABC has removed Don’t Trust The B—– in Apt. 23 from it’s Tuesday night schedule and replacing it with a second helping of Happy Endings. Here’s a tweet from JVDB himself announcing the bad news. And as we all know… The Beek never lies.
“Sad to say ABC has pulled #Apt23 and will not be airing the 8 remaining episodes any time soon. Translation: we’ve basically been cancelled,” – James Van Der Beek
Technically, ABC hasn’t officially ‘canceled’ the show, but the network has a tendency to stop production without making it official. Pan-Am, Last Resort and 666 Park Avenue were all pulled but none given an official cancellation statement. Hopefully though, network execs decide to air the remaining eight episodes. After the episode where June (Dreama Walker) accidentally stabbed her new co-worker in the back with a knife, I felt the show started to find its footing.
While not the funniest sitcom, I will miss it. When it was on, the cast provided for some amusing situations. If nurtured correctly, it could’ve been a modest hit. Unfortunately for them, I don’t think the alphabet network was ever 100% on its side. ABC was all over the place with their strategy for the show. It cut the first season short last year, even though it has six episodes still to air. Then when it premiered for its sophomore season, ABC inexplicably began airing the episodes out of order. After the winter break, they started airing the Krysten Ritter show on Sunday and Tuesday nights- again with non-sequential episodes. I felt schizophrenic just trying to watch it.
Will you miss the show? Were you a fan of the BITCH and her Apt. 23 friends? Do you think James Van Der Beek should focus all his attention on a Dawson’s Creek reunion? Sound off below.

Pleasantly surprised by how many of our readers enjoyed Apt. 23. Thanks for commenting.

Come on ABC. You boot all these cool shows and yet Tim Allen’s split personality sitcom that SO transparently makes every single episode into some political debate stays on the air. It’s not funny and yet it stays while Apt 23 gets the boot. I guess we all know who the REAL bitch is…

Sad to see the show go, and I’m not a fan of the way they are treating Happy Endings..

I hope a cable network thinks of picking them up …like what happened with Cougar Town and Southland. ABC sucks…

NOOOOOO! I love this show. ABC is making so many bad decision when it comes to their comedies. First they got rid of Cougar Town, now Don’t trust the B…, and I’m pretty sure Happy Endings is getting the boot. Yet they want to keep that bullshit Reba and Tim Allen show. I hate how networks fuck over a show, and by extension the fans. Cutting season 1 short then airing the episodes on sunday. It made no fucking sense.
TBS, don’t be shy of taking what ABC don’t want. Save this show
