Born Corey McGriff, DJ Megatron was shot to death outside his Staten Island home yesterday at 2 AM. His manager has confirmed the report and states that Megatron was headed to a store nearby. DJ Megatron was a radio personality and best known for hosting BET’s 106th and Park.

Police are reporting that he was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and pronounced dead on the scene shortly after 2 AM on Sunday morning.. No arrests have been made or suspects named publicly. No eye witnesses have come forward to police either. DJ Megatron is survived by his wife and three children.

DJ Megatron was a former host on on WQHT Hot 97 in New York City and wasn’t known to have any enemies. A close friend had this to say about the shock of his death.

“Everybody is shocked. He just had a new baby. He wasn’t feuding with anybody. Everybody liked him.”
