There are two things I can always get behind: good underwear and drag queens. Thankfully, one of my favourite local businesses has creatively combined the two in a unique line of products you won’t find anywhere else. Dirt Squirrel Co. recently released their Super Queens line of shirts and underwear and they are SO cute you’re probably going to want multiple pairs.
Inspired by local Vancouver Drag talent, the boys over at Dirt Squirrel set out on a mission to work with local drag queens to produce a fantastic line of products.
“In May, we began working with artist, Stephen Sadowski, running around the city taking photos of eight queens that would be given superhero personas: Carlotta Gurl, Conni Smudge, Jaylene Tyme, Raye Sunshine, Isolde N. Barron, Peach Cobblah, Jane Smoker and Beardoncé. While many people questioned our ability to gather eight queens and pull this off before Vancouver Pride, the hardest part was not being able to include more!”
Not only do these shirts and underwear feature local drag queens as superheroes but the products themselves are superheroes in their own right with partial proceeds benefitting two amazing local charities: YouthCO and The Vancouver Friends For Life Society. Recently, a party was thrown celebrating the launch of this new line that featured many of the Super Queens along with some other amazing local talent. Check out the video below…
