I really gotta be careful with my cheat days. I think instead of cheat days I should just do a cheat meal. Like I get one meal on Sunday that I can eat as badly as I want. It used to be the whole day, but three shitty meals on a Sunday, makes for a really sluggish day on a Monday.

In my everlasting quest to figure out what the hell is going to fit the best for me, I went to check out this trainer who has a private gym…which I like. Completely private, no judging eyes, no nothing. It was a great session and Bryan is a fabulous trainer. It was fun. I’m got a couple other options to try out and really see exactly what I want to do.

I slept in until 10 today. I stayed on the couch all morning and most of the afternoon. I am sore from the past couple days. My body is starting to feel it. And I know, I get the whole “It’s a good sore. It means you’re working hard” but it’s getting a bit painful for real. It was agony running today, wasn’t one of my better days. My legs hurt, my sides hurt…this is starting to suck. My motivation is faltering…I’m just so tired with this. And I get it, it’s not instant results and it takes forever and blah blah blah…

Apparently I’m already looking less rotund haha. I love that word. It’s a pretty mean word, but it sounds so smart that you never realize actually how bad it is.
1. round in shape.
2. plump; fat.
See, kind of just a nice sounding way of saying a round fat pig lol. MY friends are amazing though, I have seen them since I started, and they were all saying how great I was looking etc. I don’t know if it’s true, but either way it was pretty much what I needed to hear. Even though I’m still not sold on how much I’m going to end up loving this, I’ll still go through the motions.
I did have a spinach salad last night with mandarin and cranberries and nuts…it was actually pretty decent. Not filling mind you, but there MIGHT be hope for leaves…MIGHT BE!

Good for keeping it up, Tommy. What you need to remember is that athleticism is all about mind over matter. You have to learn to persevere through the pain and monotony. Think about it as a means of not only help change the physical aspect of your life, but every aspect of your life. I think you’d be surprised how much your perspective of how you live can change when you fix the way you eat and stay active.

Good for you! I took up personal training for my new years resolution, and actually paying for it is what’s keeping me accountable. I’d never have been able to stay on track by myself!
If you went to see Bryan at that “private gym” I’m pretty sure you went to the same gym I’m going to. Bryan is really great, and the facility is pretty neat. I’ve got 0 experience in the gym and the privacy thing is really great for me. You should definately consider sticking with him.
The hardest part of all isn’t the 3x a week training, its staying on top of the food thing for sure. I’m still having a really hard time making sure I’m eating something with protein every 2-3 hours… your cheat days or even cheat meals are something I totally struggle with too.. every day I’m somehow cheating… I’ve settled that the only really non-cheating meal I can have is sashimi and protein shakes! Good thing I like raw fish…

Tim, since you’re already taking protein shakes, just drink protein if you can’t find solid protein to eat with a meal. Protein isolate is the best, though a the priciest protein you can get.

I personally use Isp XP Chocolate Xplosion (which to me tastes like chocolate milk which is awesome). Per serving it’s 220 Calories, 50g protein, 2g Carbs, and 0.5g fat. I get it at Popeye’s for like $90 for a 5.5lbs tub.
