Rumor has it a Destiny’s Child reunion will take place at this year’s Super Bowl half-time show. It only makes sense given that the girl group recently announced the release of a new album, Destiny’s Child – Love Songs. The 14-track compilation will include romantic gems from their career between 1997-2004 and one never released track.
“Nuclear” is the first song released since the group broke up in 2005. Produced by Pharrell Williams, the track was co-written by Michelle Williams and features vocal production by Beyoncé and Lonny Bereal. While I adore the group and appreciate new music from them, the track isn’t exactly explosive. It sounds a little dated which makes sense given it was probably written years ago. But hey, that’s just my opinion. Take a quick listen to “Nuclear” below and post your thoughts.
Thoughts? Do you think DC will release a music video for it? Reportedly, after performing a medley of their hits, the girl group will belt out their “new” track at some point during their Super Bowl performance. Will that huge platform propel the song on the charts? Sound off below.

I kind of love the throw back. Any Pharrell track is a good track.

Great song for what it is. I’ve never heard parts of it. But that drum beat sounds familiar.

Though I do like the 90′s style back beat…as in (remember Black Box, Culture Beat, Snap and Inner City), the song itself is rather lulling and boring…and I certainly can’t see it propelling into the stratosphere in an Arena setting at Super Bowl. Yawn

Talk about disappointment! As some already pointed out, this is boring.

I agree the 90′s style works for what it is, but where is the strong, independent women singing their assess off?
I know all three of them individuals could sing something more impressive.

I suspect the press for this is misleading and it’s a left over track from the 2000′s because wasn’t Beyonce’s dad planning to release a couple albums this year, greatest hits and unreleased material, now that he’s not managing her.

…I mean it sounds like a good B-Side/Album track…

Yeah the back beat is really nice, the vocals good, but I think this song would’ve been much better in a death metal version.

I hear the essence of “Vogue” throughout. Is it listed as a sample?
