Dennis Hopper Dies

Actor Dennis Hopper passed away today at the age of 74. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer some time ago and died today, surrounded by his family and friends in his home in Venice, California. He was best known for his roles in Rebel Without A Cause and Easy Rider. Recently, on March 29th, 2010, he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and was there in attendance. In the past 10 years, he added at least 25 films to his list of work.

Hopper was married five times and also had a history of alcohol and drug abuse. His shortest marriage lasted only 8 days, which was his second marriage (to singer/actress Michelle Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas.

Prostate cancer is a slow growing cancer and tends to be more prevalent in men over the age of 50. It usually doesn’t show any signs & symptoms. Advanced prostate cancer can cause spread of the cancer to other parts of the body.
