Netflix Renews ‘Dear White People’

Class will remain in session for Dear White People. The satirical comedy received a passing grade and a second season renewal from Netflix.

Dear White People, based on the 2014 film of the same name, follows escalating racial tensions at a predominantly white prestigious Ivy League college from the perspective of several African American students. Topics of social injustice, cultural bias, political correctness (or lack thereof) and sometimes misguided activism in the millennial age will be touched upon. Each episode, besides the finale, focuses on a particular character.

Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson, and Marque Richardson will all return for the next season, which will have ten episodes. Production begins later this year.

Did you sample Dear White People? I did and binge-watched the entire thing in a day. My favorite was Antoinette Robertson who brilliantly played Colandrea “Coco” Conners. Bitchy yet vulnerable… just like me 😉
