Ben Platt Boogies With His ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ Replacements In Groovy Promo

His star-making turn in Dear Evan Hansen earned Ben Platt a Tony award. On November 19, the 24-year-old actor will leave the award-winning Broadway musical. The Real O’Neals actor Noah Galvin will step into Platt’s shoes starting November 21 with Hello, Dolly star Taylor Trensch following suit in January 2018. To promote Galvin and Trensch joining the production, a groovy promo was filmed.

The throwback clip features the trio rocking 70s attire and boogieing their way through New York City to the tune of Earth, Wind & Fire’s “Getaway.” Eventually, they make their way to the Big Apple’s theater district. At that point, Noah and Taylor dance their way to the Music Box Theatre while Ben watches them and walks away in the other direction. The passing of the torch is complete.

Check out the fun clip below.
