After several failed attempts, Salem’s super adorable couple, Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith), finally consummated their relationship on Days of Our Lives. I find it hilarious that kids on daytime soaps can age 15 years overnight, but it takes months and months for gays to have sex. Talk about an unrealistic storyline. LOL. How convenient is it that the sex scene aired during November sweeps? It worked for me, I tuned it to watch the historic moment.

So how was it? Well, I couldn’t tell you… until today. NBC preempted the second half of the show for a live President Obama press conference. How convenient ;) Thankfully, the network uploads the episode on their site the next day. Obviously, they weren’t going to show the boys in the throws of passion. It is daytime television after all. The post-coital chit chat was cute with the boys caressing each other and playfully pecking one another. So sad, we don’t get know who the top/bottom was ;)

Even though it was relatively PG, there’s plenty of long-time DOOL viewers in an uproar with the controversial scene. From viewers threatening to boycott the show to pure homophobic hatred, it’s out there on the internet. That said, there are plenty more comments in support showing a loving same-sex relationship. If you’re wondering why the chick is feverishly knocking on the door, it’s because she’s preggers. Who’s the daddy? It’s Will. Only in soap land can a gay guy get their mom’s ex-husband’s sister pregnant. So sad that Will has to deal with this mess now that he’s finally found happiness with Sonny.
