Minus a couple singles and a duet with older sister Kylie, Dannii Minogue has spent the majority of the past decade sitting on The X Factor panel in the UK and her native Australia instead of focusing on her music career. She’s returning back to her roots. To coincide with her appearance as a special guest on Take That’s Australian tour, the 46-year-old pop singer has released a brand new single.
“Music is fun for me now. I’ve set it up so I can do fun things like tours and releasing music, yet do it sporadically, because I don’t want to be a slave to it,” Dannii said in a statement. “I need everything to revolve around me having a life. I’ve been wanting to do music for ages but something was holding me back. Now I feel really settled. I feel like I’m in a personal space where I can do it and it’s going to be fun.”
“Galaxy” is a dreamy euphoric number penned by fellow Aussie, Sia. Dannii describes her new single as “classic Sia” with “huge vocal with beautiful melodies.” “Your current sets me free, I’m feeling your electricity,” Dannii coos. “You are my galaxy, a star struck heart beat.”
For the accompanying visual, Nick W. Lord was enlisted. Check out the neon-lit music video below featuring Dannii rocking several outfits. She serves up glamoooooour for days.
