We are only 8 episodes in but already, we have reached the halfway mark on Season 14 of Dancing With The Stars. It’s hard to believe that only nine stars remain in the competition. Last week, we bid a very sad farewell to the crowd pleasing and always entertaining, Sherri Shepherd. To be honest, I still cannot believe she went home. Tonight, the ballroom will be muy caliente because tonight, it’s Latin night!
I have to say, the sexy William Levy should feel right at home tonight with a song like “Buttons” by the Pussycat Dolls, he better be taking it all off. Tonight, the episode brought out some stellar performances from Maria Menounos and Katherine Jenkins – no surprise there really. And once again, Gladys Knight and Gavin Degraw failed to impress. Check out the evening’s performances including the judges scores below.

Tonight was a fun night, but a tough night as well. I feel like I can totally predict the bottom three with my eyes closed but after what happened last night, I’m sure I will even be close. However, there is no denying that the bottom three should include Gladys Knight and Gavin Degraw. To round it off, I think that it could be Melissa Gilbert. What did you think of tonight’s episode and performances? Sound off below.

Usually, I think everyone raves about William Levy simply because of his looks. But last night, he owned that dance. He was so in character, it was very impressive. I always love Katherine Jenkins + I just hope people will give her due props even though we might not be as familiar with her in the U.S. market. Roshon is still one of my very favorites, too. So much energy. Gladys needs much more in the way of technique, but I love her quiet confidence when she’s performing. Gavin was a mess last night, but I still love him. He’s much better suited to slower, more emotional performances. Donald Driver is a pretty consistently good dancer. I’d like to see him really wow me more, though, with something more special on the dance floor. Jaleel had a really nice flavor/groove in last night’s performance. I could watch him roll like that for quite some time…
Melissa is a good dancer, but not a great one. It felt as though Maks had to lead her a bit too much in this + her last dance, if I recall correctly (I’m sure about this last dance, but not about the one prior being the one she seemed ‘off’ in). Maria is a fairly strong dancer, but I’m just not a fan of her personally. That’s taking nothing from her dancing, of course.
As it goes, my favorites: Roshon + Katherine.
Shallow side-note: I don’t mind Gladys, Melissa, or Maria sticking around a bit longer just so I can see their partners (Tristan, Maks, Derek) butts, + other attributes during rehearsals/live shows. There’s something about a nicely-built man in sweats or well-fitted slacks (Maks last week in the matador pants? Damn.) Plus, I’m a sap for Tristan’s thick Irish accent.
