Dancing With The Stars 14: Episode 3 The First Elimination

Tonight, one of the stars of Dancing With The Stars season 14 will face the humiliation of being the first one sent packing. In a season chalk full of promising dancers, Monday night’s performances lacked appeal for some and many of my favorites didn’t live up their hype. Topping the leaderboard last night was opera star Katherine Jenkins with a combined two week total of 52 out of 60. Falling short and landing at the bottom was tennis pro Martina Navratilova with a disappointing 37.

But as we know, the judges scores don’t always matter and sometimes, favorites go home based on the poor calling skills of the at home viewers. So who will be eliminated tonight? I’ll save that until the end. Tonight, the show also featured two performances by Sugarland – a nice cross promotion to help promote Jennifter Nettles and the new ABC show coming this May, Duets. We were also introduced to this season’s troupe who perform a routine to Jessie J’s “Domino”. Watch the performances and find out who was eliminated below.

The Final Results…

Roshon Fegan & Chelsie Hightower – SAFE

Gavin Degraw & Karina Smirnoff – SAFE
Martina Navratilova & Tony Dovolani – ELIMINATED

I have to admit, I wasn’t too shocked that Martina Navratilova was the first to be booted – especially after her performance on Monday night. However, it’s looking like Gavin Degraw may not have the fan base he was expecting unless he shapes up his dance moves. Until next Monday…
