Welcome back to the ballroom. Tonight on Dancing With The Stars, it’s Classical Week. The band has been enlarged and the music will be sure to sweep us away. While the show has yet to bring back the ballroom in the round from Jennifer Grey’s season, Classical Week still tends to be one of my favorite weeks and a chance to really see who will separate themselves from the pack.

This week, the band will also be joined by Jackie Evancho and Vittorio Grigolo who sing during a few of the couples’ performances. It’s sure to be an exciting night as well with two of the highest scoring couples picking teams school yard style to compete in the Team Dance Challenge. Watch all of the performances below.

KATHERINE JENKINS & MARK BALLAS – RUMBA

Song:Canon In D

My Thoughts: When I hear “Canon In D,” I usually think of a wedding and a bride walking down the isle – not a Rumba. My oh my, did this little number change my opinion. These two were two sexy Roman gods. Wowza. Katherine is an amazing dancer and could definitely go all the way!

MELISSA GILBERT & MAKSIM CHMERKOVSKIY – ARGENTINE TANGO

Song:Marriage of Figaro

My Thoughts: I’m a little mixed on this one. The opening lift was very risky and didn’t quite hit the mark. However, some of the intricate and tricky footwork looked amazing and fit really well with the music. However, there were some lifts that definitely didn’t quite look right and made me feel uncomfortable at times.

WILLIAM LEVY & CHERYL BURKE – VIENNESE WALTZ

Song:Ave Maria

My Thoughts: Wow! What a number. The judges asked for these two to give them content and my and my, did they deliver. From every rise and fall to the arms and lines in between, William and Cheryl gave a stunning Waltz and I’m sure there will be some 10′s in there.

ROSHON FEGAN & CHELSIE HIGHTOWER – ARGENTINE TANGO

Song:Bad Romance

My Thoughts: The music was absolutely amazing! You could tell that it definitely resonated well with these two as they danced. Chelsie definitely gave Roshon a taxing piece but I thought he handled it quite well. Some of those lifts were great and the footworks and hooks were on point.

DONALD DRIVER & PETA MERGATROYD – VIENNESE WALTZ

Song:La Donna e Mobile

My Thoughts: Donald has totally managed to slip under the radar this entire competition. I constantly forget he’s on the show. His dances are always great but never memorable. I’m waiting for him to really impress me still.

MARIA MENOUNOS & DEREK HOUGH – PASA DOBLE

Song:March of the Knights

My Thoughts: Holy. Smokes. Maria has continued to impress me every week and this week is definitely no exception. Derek choreographed the perfect Paso for the two of them and Maria truly rocked. Sharp, clean and on point. A great performance.

JALEEL WHITE & KYM JOHNSON – VIENNESE WALTZ

Song:Did I Make The Most of Loving You

My Thoughts: I absolutely love this song and I thought the concept behind the dance was exquisite. However, I feel like they didn’t give me the smoothness that William was able to give or the execution that Donald provided. He’s close, he just needs some more polish.

TEAM TANGO (KATHERINE, MARIA, JALEEL, ROSHON)

Song:

My Thoughts: Wow. I absolutely LOVED this concept. The pros really gave this team a tough routine with a lot fo intricate choreography. For the solo portion, I think Roshon and Chelsie really brought the heat and as a whole, they were really strong!

THE SCORES:

TEAM PASO DOBLE (WILLIAM, MELISSA, DONALD)

My Thoughts: Wow. This Paso was steamy and on fire. I thought that the passion between the couples was outstanding and that the execution of the routine as a whole was spot on. Solo wise, William and Cheryl mastered theres and Donald brought it home real well!

Leader Board and My Predictions

  • Maria & Derek: 57
  • Katherine & Mark: 54
  • Donald & Peta: 53
  • William & Cheryl: 53
  • Roshon & Chelsie: 52
  • Jaleel & Kym: 51
  • Melissa & Maks: 47

As for my predictions, I think that Jaleel and Melissa should be the bottom two and competing the Rumba dance duel. Unfortunately, history seems to repeat itself and Roshon continues to find himself in jeopardy. Let’s hope that this week, he proves America wrong. Who do you think will be in the bottom?
