Sylvester Stallone Taps ‘Big Nasty’ To Play Ivan Drago’s Son In ‘Creed 2’

Prep yourself for Michael B. Jordan to take on Florian Munteanu a.k.a. Big Nasty in Creed 2. The Romanian boxer joins the Rocky franchise as the son of Dolph Lundgren’s Ivan Drago. Sylvester Stallone confirmed the casting via his Instagram.

“Congratulations to Florian ‘Big Nasty’ Munteanu for getting the part as IVAN DRAGOS son! 27 years old , 6 feet four, 245 pounds of talent.#mgm #creed #creed2,” along with a photo of the boxer,” Stallone wrote on social media.

If you recall, Ivan Drago was responsible for killing Apollo Creed in Rocky IV. Will the same fate befall Jordan’s character Adonis as Apollo? Probably not, since I sense a trilogy here.

Dolph Lundgren will reprise his role, joining Stallone and Jordan in the highly-anticipated followup. Steven Caple Jr. takes over directing duties from Ryan Coogler. The latter is expected to return in an executive producer capacity. Production on the sequel is expected to kick off this coming spring for a November 21 U.S. release.

Check out more pics of Big Nasty below. Clearly, the casting department saw my Insta-Stud feature on him 😉
