On the heels of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announcing Denzel Washington as the recipient of the Cecil B. DeMille Award of the 73rd Golden Globes, comes news regarding the awards show’s other annual tradition. Jamie Foxx’s daugther, Corinne Foxx, has been named Miss Golden Globe 2016. The title is traditionally given to the daughter or son of a celebrity, and their responsibility is to assist in handing out the awards on the big night.
“We are delighted to have Corinne Foxx continue the tradition and have her as our 2016 Miss Golden Globe,” said HFPA President Lorenzo Soria. “Like her father, she leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”
Foxx joins a long list of women who’ve held Miss Golden Globe honors including Linda Evans, Melanie Griffith, Anne Archer, Laura Dern and Rumer Willis. Kelsey Grammer’s daugther Greer Grammer scored the honor last year. A few men over the years have also scored the gig. Clark Gable’s son John Clark Gable, Freddie Prinze, Jr. (Freddie Prinze) and A.J. Lamas (Lorenzo Lamas) have been Mr. Golden Globes.
Meet Corinne below. Thankfully, she doesn’t look like her father in drag. Remember Foxx’s In Living Color alter ego, Wanda? No bueno.
Corinne is a model-actress who is also a student at the University of Southern California. She’s actually quite stunning. Over the years, Foxx has remained mum regarding the identities of his two daughters. Whoever she is, she clearly has great genes.
“Throughout the years I’ve grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor,” said Foxx. “I’m honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he’s been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments.”
The 73rd Golden Globes airs on NBC on Sunday, January 10, 2016. Ricky Gervais will host this year’s ceremony.
