“Casting Call” is a popular web segment conducted by W magazine. The publication convinces celebrities to perform their best on-the-fly auditions for a handful of classic films, ranging from Gone with the Wind to Pulp Fiction and everything in between. The latest film to receive a re-enactment is the classic 1995 teen flick, Clueless.
Remember the scene where Alicia Silverstone delivered her memorable pro-immigration speech? Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, Lucas Hedges and Alden Ehrenreich, all channel their inner Cher Horowitz to recreate the iconic scene. Garfield delivers the most valley girl-esque rendition of the bunch while Hedges gives the most casual performance.
All are great, but sadly all four guys aren’t ‘clueless’ enough. Each and every one correctly pronounced “Haitians,” unlike Cher who hilariously mispronounced it. Fun fact: Silverstone apparently had no idea on the correct pronunciation during film. Director Amy Heckerling liked it so much she advised producers not to correct Silverstone.
Check out the amusing clip below. And in the wise words of Cher Horowitz, President Trump, “it does not say ‘RSVP’ on the Statue of Liberty.”
