First Andrew Rannells and now Christopher Abbott. Say it isn’t so. I guess Marnie (Allison Williams) will be single once again. I can only imagine how badly she handles it this time around.

Even though the title of the HBO show is Girls, the two mentioned male actors were a couple of reasons why I fell in love with the series. I can only take so much of Hannah (Lena Dunham). Am I right, or am I right? Speaking of the actress, it appears “butting heads” with her is why Abbott is leaving, according to Page Six.

Work has just begun for Season 3 and word on the street is Christopher isn’t happy with the direction his character and show are going. His rep confirmed he quit, but revealed a more PC reason as to why he’s leaving the show that put him on the map.

“[Chris] is grateful for the experience of collaborating with Lena, Judd [Apatow], and the entire ‘Girls’ cast and crew, but right now he’s working on numerous other projects and has decided not to return to the show,” Abbott’s rep

Meanwhile, US Magazine reports the following:

“Chris was reluctant to do the show from the get go. He’s a really great actor, the source material from the beginning was great and he was grateful to Lena. But he’s at a point now where he has too many great film parts being offered to him to turn them down for something he’s not 100 percent satisfied with. He feels good about his decision.” 0 US Magazine’s source

What do you think the real reason he’s leaving is? As much as I loved the first season, the second one was a bit of a letdown with exception to a couple of episodes. For me, the season finale and cocaine episode were the best from the sophomore year. Will you miss him on the show? If so, I’ve put together a few photos of him below to ease the pain. Enjoy.
