Are you watching the third season of The Voice? If so, you better enjoy the current judging panel while you still can. Come 2013, those red swivel chairs might have new occupants. Did Britney Spears scare Xtina off television? Nope. Christina Aguilera revealed to Billboard magazine, that she wants to take a break to get back to making music. A similar sentiment shared by Jennifer Lopez as to why she left American Idol. The “Genie In A Bottle” singer did leave the door open and commented, that she’ll probably be back after doing her own thing for a while. That’s assuming that The Voice is still on the air

“[The Voice] kept me away from my heart, which is creating my own music,” Christina said. “It’s been a joy to be a part of other people’s journey, to be able to inspire and be a part of new singers coming up in this business … but I was starting to get really worried and concerned that I wouldn’t have the time to go and be an artist again.”

Aguilera’s imminent departure shouldn’t come too much of a surprise. Executive producer Mark Burnett expressed during a press conference a couple of months ago, he’d like to have a rotating roster of judges for upcoming seasons. Given that the initial ratings for the NBC show are down from their previous two outings, it looks like the show may have reached its peak in the Spring. I maintain airing another season so soon after Season 2 was a mistake. That said, I’ve watched the first couple of episodes and really enjoyed a few of the blind auditions. Check out my Top 5 performances so far below.

My Five Favorite Blind Auditions So Far

Adriana Louise’s Blind Audition: ‘Domino’

Gorgeous and great back story. Hopefully, Christina keeps her around for awhile.

Aquile’s Blind Audition: ‘Your Song’

So far, my favorite out of the bunch. Loved that he just sang the song without overusing runs and frenetic phrasing.

Gracia Harrison’s Blind Audition: ‘I Want to Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart’

Who doesn’t love a good country yodeler? Could Blake win back-to-back seasons with Gracia?

Trevin Hunte’s Blind Audition: ‘Listen’

I’m a sucker for anyone who can belt out this Beyonce track, especially a dude. The hair on my arms literally stood when he hit some of those notes.

Terry McDermott Blind Audition: ‘Baba O’Riley’

Side note, how adorable was the haircut on his son? Sooooo cute. I love the clarity in Terry’s voice. So piercing.

Honorable mention goes to De’Borah’s performance of “Hey, Soul Sister“. She’s the lesbian church singer wearing the coral outfit. Have you been watching this season of The Voice? Which of the blind auditions have you enjoyed? Will you be tuning in to tonight’s X Factor premiere? Sound off below.
