Christina Aguilera recently had Hoda Kotb in her home for a one-on-one interview with Dateline where she talked about both her personal and professional life. They talk about her new album, her role on The Voice, the scrutiny about her weight, being a mother, and a lot about her past.
Aguilera also talked about some of her inspiration in her music and some of that has been a result of bullying. “I have definitely experienced forms of bullying, and that’s why it’s so important for me to write songs like ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Fighter.’” She added, “On this current record, Lotus is all about being an unbreakable flower that survives the test of time. Throughout the roughest of surroundings and harshest weather conditions it remains strong and thrives.”
The interview is actually quite interesting, with Aguilera really opening up and speaking very honestly about everything. Watch the entire segment below.

Great interview for her because she didn’t come across pretentious or disingenuous. My only complaint is she needs to wear her hair down and cut with a blunt fringe identical to the Your Body video wig because it frames her face well and slims her cheeks and makes her look less puffy. This is a mainstream pop record she’s promoting and unfortunately in this area of music the image is as important as the sound and while she has more talent than anyone in the game if she wants to put out pop dance records she needs to slim down.
