Chris Martin Pays Tribute To George Michael With ‘A Different Corner’ Duet

Love Adele as much as the next gay, but with regards to her George Michael tribute at the Grammys, it pains me to say I was underwhelmed. I understand the emotions got the best of her but her rendition of “Fastlove” was practically unrecognizable. The arrangement, to put it bluntly, sucked. I never thought in a million years I’d say this, but Chris Martin did a better job paying tribute to the late singer than Ms. Adkins.

Michael’s Wham! co-star Andrew Ridgeley reunited with Pepsi & Shirlie at The BRIT Awards 2017. The trio delivered a touching eulogy of their late friend before introducing a musical performance in his honor.

Chris Martin took to the stage to sing George’s 1986 hit ballad, “A Different Corner.” Midway through, Michael returned from beyond the grave to perform with the Coldplay frontman. Their duet was interspersed with soundbites and archive performance footage of Michael. Definitely a fitting tribute to a pop icon. Check it out below.

Adele’s was hauntingly beautiful. Martin?…can’t sing a song like this.
