The other day I teased that Cheyenne Jackson was marrying “White Collar’s” Matt Bomer. That, however, was referring to an upcoming Broadway play they were both starring in. Sadly for all you Cheyenne admirers, this time the news of his nuptials are for real. The “30 Rock” star married his longtime partner, Monte Lapka, of 11 years in a small intimate ceremony this weekend. The due exchanged vows on the beach in the Hamptons. He’s the latest gay celebrity to take advantage of New York’s recent passing of marriage equality. Designer Michael Kors, recently married his longtime partner as well.

Cheyenne, himself, broke the news by tweeting a pic with following caption, “It’s official, after 11 years together, Zora’s no longer a bastard“. Zora is the couple’s Rotweiler whom they refer to as his daughter. How cute. Jackson later added “Just married the best man I’ve ever known.” By the looks of it, the ceremony was pretty similar to a dream wedding he described in an interview to WNBC New York last year.

“Something small. My dream wedding involves just close friends and good music,” the Broadway veteran said, “And we’ll both be in tuxes. Unfortunately, nobody’s going to be wearing a dress, but that’s okay, too…Our dog would be there. Our dog, our daughter, Zora. … Pretty boring, but something just nice and on the beach.”

How adorable are the two? Love certainly is in the air. In Vancouver alone this weekend, there were two gay weddings I knew of taking place and two more in the next couple of weeks which I will be attending. Considering Jackson and Lapka tied the knot after 11 years, perhaps it’s time I put a ring on it with Brian. We’re approaching our 11 year anniversary next month in October. Perhaps I should email Cheyenne for some advice planning a wedding.
