Cher Searches For Happy Days With ABBA ‘S.O.S.’ Cover

Cher belted out “Fernando” and “Super Trouper” this summer on the silver screen in Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Did she leave you wanting more after watching the musical? You’re in luck. The 72-year-old legend is releasing an album filled with ABBA covers.

“I’ve always liked ABBA and saw the original Mamma Mia musical on Broadway three times,” Cher said in a statement after the news was revealed. “After filming Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, I was reminded again of what great and timeless songs they wrote and started thinking ‘why not do an album of their music?’ The songs were harder to sing than I imagined but I’m so happy with how the music came out. I’m really excited for people to hear it. It’s a perfect time.”

Dancing Queen will include renditions of “Waterloo, “The Winner Takes It All,” and of naturally “Dancing Queen.” The album doesn’t arrive until September 28, but we have our second taste of the tribute LP, following the lead cut “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” Listen to “S.O.S” below.
