It’s the dawning of a new era for the Miss Universe pageant. After being in bed with Donald Trump for a dozen years, the organization and NBC cut ties with the 69-year-old mogul after his controversial remarks about immigrants. Personally, good riddance. I liked the telecast much better before The Donald was involved.
The Trump-less era begins this Sunday, December 20 on FOX when the 2015 Miss Universe competition takes place, live from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Emmy Award winner Steve Harvey will host with Devious Maids‘ Roselyn Sanchez reporting backstage.
Rising star Charlie Puth has been tapped to serenade the global beauties. Seal and The Band Perry are also set to perform. Savvy move on the producers’ part to select musical acts from different genres.
Are you going to tune in? I definitely am and excited to see what other changes producers have up their sleeves. Weigh in below.
