October is anti-bullying month and this video is a great example of someone who is not allowing bullies to get the last word. CBS WKBT news anchor, Jennifer Livingston recently received a letter from someone who doesn’t normally watch her on TV, but happened to watch her for a short period of time one day. Essentially, he wrote that someone of her size shouldn’t be on television and her “physical condition” was a bad example for kids. “Obesity is one of the worst choices a person can make…,” he wrote.

Before Jennifer began her response, she mentions that being in the media, you get your healthy dose of critiques on an ongoing basis (so do we for that matter). That being said, sometimes it goes too far and it’s just plain hate and bullying. This viewer’s email was a good example of that.

“To the person who wrote me that letter — do you think I don’t know that? That your cruel words are pointing out something that I don’t see?” Livingston asked in response. “You don’t know me. You are not a friend of mine. You are not a part of my family. And you have admitted that you don’t watch this show. So you know nothing about me but what you see on the outside. And I am much more than a number on the scale.” Watch the inspiring video of what she said below.
