Why Cassie never became a huge thing is beyond me? She was like the Tinashe of her time, criminally underrated. Her future looked so bright when her debut single, “Me & U,” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. She released more singles, but nothing stuck. You’d think her longtime boyfriend, Diddy, could’ve helped her become a pop superstar. What’s the point in dating a record mogul if he ain’t doing sh*t for you, right?
The 30-year-old singer makes a long-overdue return to the music scene with “Love A Loser.” She enlisted rapper G-Eazy for her electro-tinged R&B number. It doesn’t exactly scream radio smash, but I like it. Mind you, I’m a little biased since I’ve always liked Cassie and rooted for her. All it takes is for one track to stick to launch a successful comeback. Here’s hoping she’s working on more stuff in the recording studio. Check out “Love A Loser” below.
