American Idol’s 12th season premieres tonight and it’s only fitting that we catch up with one of the most successful artists to come from the FOX singing competition. Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood took a break from her world tour to pose for Allure magazine’s February 2013 issue. Her covers must sell well for the publication since this is her third time gracing one.
Photographed by Alexi Lubormirski, Underwood is the epitome of understated country glamor. The shoot took place at the historic Overholser Mansion in Oklahoma City. With her blond locks and high fashion threads by Burberry Prorsum and Calvin Klein to name a few, Carrie leaves her fans “Blown Away” with her approachable beauty.
In the accompany interview, Carrie answers a wide array of questions. From her sexy stage outfits to her marriage to NHL player Mike Fisher, everything is covered. Speaking of marriage, the 29-year-old country superstar voices her stance on gay marriage. She also talks about ABC’s country soap Nashville and if any of the characters resemble her. Check out photos and quotes from the February issue below.
“I’m in favor of acceptance. And I am a Christian person, and I do love the Lord, and I feel no matter who you are, what you believe, how you live your life, it’s not my place to judge. I don’t have that power. I don’t want that power. It’s my place to love and to show God’s love to other people, even if they don’t live a life like I live. So that’s where I’m coming from.”

“Underneath every skirt, every dress, I’m wearing shorts. So that everyone in the world knows, if I ever fell down, nobody would get a peek at anything.”

“I’m not like that at all. It’s juicy, but I hope not everybody thinks that everything goes down like that in Nashville, and we’re evil. To be honest, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with other types of music—and we’re the least drama-rific people.”

She basically she’s saying “Don’t worry, God will judge you and send you to hell, so I don’t need to. Buy my album!”

Christian.. at first I thought “wow, she’s being open” but after reading your comment I totally see her for NOT actually coming out in stand for gay marriage rights but rather CAREFULLY toeing the line to not piss anyone off by having an actual opinion either way. Ensuring sales :P you’re right.

What’s wrong with that? She is not a Gay rights activist. Big whoop. She is not bashing the LGBTQ community. She is voicing the right opinion. Which is no opinion. She says it is not her place to judge: Correct. She accepts everyone for who they are: Correct. It’s better than her spewing hate speech. Tolerance is wonderful. There is no need for her acceptance!

She said in a previous interview that she is in support of gay marriage and she goes to a church that accepts homosexuality and gay marriage.
