Carrie Ann Inaba To Officially Replace Julie Chen On ‘The Talk’

There were rumors that Rosie O’Donnell lobbied hard for the gig. Apparently a couple cast members squashed that, privately expressing concerns over O’Donnell’s volatility and the media circus that seems to follow her. In the end, it appears The Talk has gone with a safer selection.

Variety reports Carrie Ann Inaba has closed a deal to join the CBS daytime show and will officially begin in January. She’ll sit alongside Eve, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne and Sheryl Underwood.

I’m sure Julie Chen will be fine with this hire since she pretty much anointed Inaba as her successor when she tearfully departed the show back in September. “You’d look awful good sitting in that chair, my Asian sister. I’m just saying,” Julie said.

It’ll be interesting to see what this means for Carrie Ann’s future over at Dancing With The Stars and her lucrative deal with ABC. I’d be shocked if both networks agreed for Inaba to appear on both regularly. Thoughts on the new-ish Talk panelist? Weigh in below.

I would love if Carrie Ann left DWTS and was replaced by Julianne Hough. She was great and fun. Carrie is a good fit for The Talk.
