Carly Rae Jepsen’s Sexy ‘Curiosity’ Music Video Finally Leaks

Carly Rae Jepsen filmed the music video for “Curiosity” earlier this year but it was shelved due to certain people in her camp not happy with the sexy and mature theme of the clip. Given that the demographic of the 27-year-old singer’s new fanbase were primarily teens, I can see her producers’ concerns. Jepsen all tarted up in lingerie and making out with a hot guy isn’t exactly the cute and bubbly girl-next-door image that’s associated with her. At long last, the Colin Minihan-directed clip has finally leaked online. Or was it purposely released?

Her teenybopper “This Kiss” music video failed to improve upon the single’s chart performance. The track stalled at No. 86 on Billboard. Is the “leakage” a way for Carly Rae’s camp to test the waters out with a sexier and more provocative image? I wouldn’t put it past them.

Personally, I kinda like this side of Jepsen. It’s more in line with her actual age, even though she only looks like she’s 16-years-old. My only complaint is that it looks pretty low budget given it was supposed to be the follow-up to the massive “Call Me Maybe”.

Loyal readers of Homorazzi.com might recognize Jepsen’s love interest. It’s actor Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman (SGU Stargate Universe) who happens to be a friend of writer Nic. Sadly for Jepsen, she loses her man again once again like in “Call Me Maybe”. This time, it’s not to a guy in her band, but rather a cheap-looking blond hooker 😉 Check out Jeffrey hardcore making out with Carly Rae below.

Carly Rae Jepsen ‘Curiosity’ Music Video

What do you think of the music video? Do you think the producers were rightfully worried about Carly Rae’s sexy image in the clip? Which song do you prefer, “Curiosity” or “This Kiss”? IMHO, I think this was a missed opportunity for Jepsen. It’s a far superior track than the Katy Perry sound-alike “This Kiss“. Sound off below.

this song is way better and catchier than this kiss… and the video is ok…

It looks low budget because she filmed the video when Call Me Maybe wasn’t a hit yet. She was just some Canadian artist when Curiosity was released as her second single. Call Me Maybe wasn’t even on the charts in the US til after she made the video.

    British Columbia Pride!
But seriously, if she think she can venture out in the acting business because she gave a “breathtaking” performance in this music video, she is seriously mistaken. That video was awful. Love the song though. Her whole album is actual pretty good.
