Due to a new government policy governing them, the Avengers team is now fractured. The other day we saw Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), Falcon (Anthony Mackie), Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) and Captain America (Chris Evans) aka Team Cap highlighted with their individual character posters. Now, it’s Team Iron Man’s turn.
Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Paul Bettany (Vision) and Don Cheadle (Rhodes) are led by Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr) for the epic battle in Captain America: Civil War due out May 6.
The most interesting thing about both batches of character posters is who’s not included. Tom Holland as Spider-Man is set to make his debut in the film, but neither the first trailer or the released artwork feature him. Which team is the web-slinger on?
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.
