Thursday, our nation celebrated it’s 145th birthday, and Vancouver was alive once again with the spirit, patriotism, and togetherness that was born during the 2010 Winter Olympic games. People wore red & white, and even though it is summer, we witnessed people wearing the infamous red Vancouver 2010 Olympic mittens that were oh-so popular during the games. To be fair, it was unusually chilly during the day yesterday (certainly not mitt weather though – but it was all in the spirit of Canada Day).

From SYTYCDC performances (and a Homorazzi exclusive interview) and a performance by Juno nominated Canadian Idol finalist Carly Rae Jepson (pictured above and who you’ll catch see in the video), to the Canada Day parade, to fireworks in front of Canada Place in Coal Harbour (a short two minute walk from my apartment), the city was alive and we captured it all.
