Summer is still months away, but some of recording industry’s biggest names have already started premiering tracks, they hope will rule the airwaves during that time and ultimately take home the title of “Summer Song of 2017.” Calvin Harris is just the latest to do so, and he’s enlisted three featured artists to increase his chances.
Aptly titled “Heatstroke,” the summery bop is a sizzling offering. It’s a retro-sounding funky track, absolutely perfect for those beach days. You can’t help but sway back and forth, especially when Grande effortlessly delivers the chorus. Given that this is the first time the Scottish DJ has worked with these three artists, it’s absolute perfection. That being said, I wish there was more Ariana and less Young Thug.
Give the future hit a spin below. It’s a worthy successor to Harris’ recent Frank Ocean collaboration, “Slide.” The 33-year-old DJ is definitely on a roll.
