A few months ago, photos of Britney Spears dressed as Cleopatra surfaced online. Now, we finally have our first look at the finished product. The X Factor judge donned gold attire to film a commercial for her newest fragrance, Fantasy Twist. This is Spears’ 11th perfume released with Elizabeth Arden. To date, Britney has reportedly sold approximately one billion bottles of her perfume since her debut fragrance Curious back in 2004. That’s a whole lot of girls (and some gays) smelling like the “Toxic” singer.
“I created Fantasy Twist to give women the power to choose their own destiny at will,” says Britney Spears in a statement. “Fantasy Twist embodies the two different sides of myself that I believe are also present in every woman. With notes of chocolate, jasmine, and kiwi, the Fantasy side captures me at my most sweet and sensual, making it perfect for daytime wear. Midnight Fantasy is for after dark, when I’m at my most mysterious and alluring. It contains notes of framboise and black cherry to create the enticing sense of danger that comes from a kiss with a seductive stranger.”
In the 50-second clip, the 30-year-old singer appears in four different looks including the aforementioned Cleopatra get-up. She sashays, vogues and whacks down a hallway while Goldfrapp’s “Beautiful” plays in the background. I wonder why none of Brit’s songs were used instead? Check out her new commercial which begins with a quote from French-Cuban author Anais Nin, “We don’t see things as they are, we see things as we are.”
