Kit Harington Heads To The Wild West In Western Horror ‘Brimstone’

Kit Harington leaves Westeros for the Wild West for his new movie, Brimstone. Despite the change in setting, the 30-year-old is as fine as ever. The whole gunslinger look works for him.

Wrongly accused of a crime she didn’t commit, a frontier woman turned fugitive named Liz (Dakota Fanning) is hunted by a vengeful preacher (Guy Pearce) in the menacing inferno of the old American West. Here’s a bit of fun casting trivia. Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska were originally tapped to play Harington and Fanning’s parts.

The western horror film screened at both the Venice Film Festival and Toronto International Film Festival last year. It’s already premiered in director Martin Koolhoven’s native Holland and gave the 47-year-old filmmaker his fifth consecutive hit movie. It finally hits North American theaters and on demand/digital HD on March 10.

Some critics have called the sadomasochistic Western too violent. Watch the trailer below and see if you agree.
