With Taylor Momsen and Jessica Szohr being dropped as regulars this season, Gossip Girl is infusing some new meat to the veteran CW show. In Liz Hurley’s case, I use the term “new meat” quite loosely. That being said, the 46-year-old British actress looks pretty damn good for her age. In her hey day, I wasn’t a fan of Hurley. I always thought she looked like a man, trying to look like a woman, trying to look like a drag queen. Whatever her daily regiment is though, it’s certainly working for her in her 40s.

Hurley joins the cast for a multi-episode arc as Diana Payne. Her character is described as “a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with,”. The producers also added Diana’s entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all the characters- including Gossip Girl herself. Dum, dum, dum… Based on the picture above, we know how Diana will affect Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford). Looks like Nate is booking another ticket to cougar town.

It wouldn’t be a Gossip Girl season if a new girl wasn’t added to the mix to face off against Blair Waldorf. This year, Blair’s foil comes in the form of French actress and model Roxane Mesquida. She has been cast as the meddling sister of Blair’s fiancee, Prince Louis. Like other members of his family, his sister isn’t happy about their upcoming nuptials and will stop at nothing to sabotage it. Mesquida was discovered at 13-years-old and is best known for appearing in French director Benoit Jacquot’s film, “L’Ecole de la chair”. “Gossip Girl” will mark her debut for US audiences.

This year’s new male hottie is “Stargate: Universe” alum, Brian J. Smith. Even though he’s joining the cast, he’s not going to appear in the Upper East Side right away. His character, Max, is an aspiring chef who meets Serena while she’s on the West Coast. Smith is a Julliard graduate that is an off-Broadway veteran. Fun fact. During his time filming “Stargate: Universe” in Vancouver, I got a chance to meet him via a mutual friend and seemed like a nice guy. Congrats on his new gig.

For those of you already in lust with Brian, I found a film where gets busy with a little man-on-man action. He plays Trey McCoy, an openly gay man who is the subject of a brutal attack. Check out a scene from “Hate Crime” where his character makes out with his boyfriend.

What do you think of the new additions? Will you be watching “Gossip Girl’s” fifth season? I can’t believe we’re already on Season 5. Where did the years go?
