DC Comics has yet to name its forthcoming streaming service, but it just released the first official image for its new superhero series, Titans, which will air on the digital service. It must be my lucky day because it’s actually the one character I was most looking forward to seeing. Brenton Thwaites could give Chris O’Donnell a run for his money as the hottest guy to don the Robin suit.
Arrow and Riverdale maestro Greg Berlanti is producing the live-action series based on the animated series Teen Titans, along with Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns and Sarah Schechter. It centers on a group of young superheroes known as the Titans, led by Dick Grayson, the former protege of Batman. As previously mentioned, Thwaites will play the former circus performer turned superhero.
Joining the 28-year-old Aussie actor are Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6: The Series) as Garfield Logan/Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson (Blood Drive) as Hank Hall/Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dawn Granger/Dove and Lindsey Gort (The Carrie Diaries) as Detective Amy Rohrbach.
Titans is scheduled to debut in 2018. What do you think of Brenton as Robin? Sound off below.
