As we start moving closer to winter I start to think more about next summer. With that, when thinking about a Sports Stud for this week, I thought about the fact that the 2012 Summer Olympics are taking place next summer and thought, why not highlight one of the swimmers. This week’s sports stud is Team USA swimmer, Brendan Hansen.

The 30-year-old swims for the United States and is a former world record holder in both the 100 and 200-meter breaststroke. At the last Summer Olympics, his only individual event was the 100 m breaststroke and he finished in fourth place. That being said, he did earn a gold medal for his part in the 4×100 medley relay. In total (with the 2004 Olympics included) he has a 2 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze Olympic medals.

He’s been working on a comeback to the sport to ensure he can quality for a spot on the U.S. team and make his country proud. He’s a household name and I’m sure it’d make for an exciting team to watch next summer!

Whew! Check out his abs & pecs!

The underwater perspective.

Here he is with his teammates.

Don’t be shy…

A close up on his chest. There’s some gym motivation.

And he’s even got junk in the trunk. Nice!
