Taking a page from FX and Ryan Murphy’s playbook, Bravo is putting the spotlight on a real-life rivalry for an upcoming event series. The network announced it’s delving into the juicy and intense world of publishing.
All That Glitters will explore the rivalry between Anna Wintour and Tina Brown, both of whom rose to prominence in the 90s as editors for Vogue and The New Yorker respectively. The show will be based on Thomas Maier’s book on famed publisher Si Newhouse, Newhouse: All the Glitter, Power and Glory of America’s Richest Media Empire and the Secretive Man Behind It. Maier will also serve as producer.
“All That Glitters presents the true story of the behind the scenes rivalry, relationship and remarkable ascent of pop-culture icons Tina Brown and Anna Wintour,” Bravo stated in a press release. “As both bold and driven women fight their way to the top of a male-dominated industry driven by greed and betrayal, they each find new paths to change the world around them — Tina, through the intersection of high-culture and celebrity, and Anna with an instinct for high fashion and emerging talent.”
As a fan of The Devil Wears Prada and the reality show So Cosmo, this upcoming series is right up my alley. The magazine world fascinates me tremendously. Are you intrigued? Who should play Wintour and Brown? Weigh in below.
