‘The Billionaire Boys Club’ Starring Ansel Elgort, Taran Egerton & Kevin Spacey Finally Gets A Trailer

Greed is good!!!

At long last, the first official trailer for The Billionaire Boys Club is finally here. Definitely a long wait given filming wrapped two and a half years ago. Honestly, I thought it might never come due to Kevin Spacey’s involvement.

The biographical crime drama is based on the true story of a group of wealthy boys in Los Angeles during the early 1980s who established a ‘get-rich-quick’ Ponzi ring that turned deadly. The salacious tale was previously told in an NBC miniseries that aired in 1987.

Ansel Elgort and Taron Egerton headline the cast as Joe Hunt and Dean Karny respectively. They’re joined by Jeremy Irvine, Cary Elwes, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Suki Waterhouse and Spacey. Judd Nelson, who actually starred in the original as Joe Hunt, also appears. This time around, he plays Joe’s father.

The Billionaire Boys Club was originally set to arrive last October. However, sexual assault allegations about Spacey by Anthony Rapp and other men put the project on pause. Even though Spacey was cut from All The Money In The World and fired from House of Cards, the same didn’t happen here. It’ll be interesting to see how The Billionaire Boys Club performs at the box office with Spacey still part of the cast.

The Billionaire Boys Club arrives in theaters on July 16. Check out the trailer below.
