After a couple of days in the Big Brother house, alliances have formed. It appears to be a natural battle of the sexes with, Dan and Boggie (a.k.a “Chilltown‘ named by Janelle) on one side, and Britney and Janelle on the other.
In light of this new alliance, Willie comes out….. as being Russell Hantz’s brother, to his team and Janelle. Luckily, it didn’t faze them as they see him for who he is and not for the villainous, aggressive Survivor winner his brother is known as. However Willie wasn’t completely satisfied with Britney’s deal with Janelle, and decides to make a side alliance with Frank. WIllie swore to Frank he wouldn’t nominate him for eviction. In return, Frank wouldn’t nominate him if he were to win HOH next week.
It’s a quiet night in the Big Brother house and while Ian thinks everyone’s asleep, he decides to lurk around the house talking to himself and crawling under furniture. Little does he know team Britney and Janelle are lying quietly in the HOH room, watching his every move. As the others watch upstairs, they can’t help but be a little creeped out. Ian continues his awkward behaviour throughout the day managing to creep out the entire house. Not smart, as he’s putting an easy target on his back.

With this season being the first to introduce past players as coaches, of course Big Brother created a new competition made especially for them. Finally, it’s time for the veterans to show the newbie’s how it’s done! The coach’s competition determines which coach will receive a new power. The power is; the winning coach gets to protect one player on their team from eviction by awarding them safety for the week. The competition was pretty straight forward. The four coaches were competing in heats, the objection was to run up to their opponent and snatch off their tail. The winners from the first and second heat would then move on to the final, where then, they would determine who the winner was. The coaches were dressed in pony outfits, fitted with a plush horse underneath them and a long bushy black tail behind. In the first heat it was Boggie vs. Britney. Both players ran across the slipper track trying to catch up to the other, but it was Boggie that caught Britney’s tail first. (She wasn’t very good at competitions during her season, I see nothing’s changed.) In the second, it was Janelle and Dan, but Dan went into the competition knowing he had to throw it. Dan figured, if he grants one of his players’ safety, it leaves a huge target on the other. After Dan’s ridiculous performance to throw the competition, it was down to Janelle and Boggie in the final heat. Yes! Finally Janelle had her chance to even things out with Boggie, after he evicted her during their season. But sadly things didn’t go as planned for Janelle and Boggie came out the winner.
Boggie granted Ian with safety as he knew the target on Ian’s back was growing bigger, and bigger each day. This put a major halt in Willie’s plans as he was planning to evict Ian. After the power was awarded it was made known to the house guests that the coaches, also determined who would be the have and have not’s for the week. Each coach selected one play from their team to take, cold showers, sleep in the have not room and eat slop for an entire week.
This year the have not room was particularly twisted as it featured sloped beds with diamond plated rivets. Ouch!

After the coaches competition it was time to get down to business as nominations were coming up. With Willie’s initial target Ian now safe, Willie had to weigh all his options and make a bold move to better himself and his team. At the nominations ceremony majority of the house guests felt pretty safe, one in particular was Frank. Frank knew he was safe due to his deal with Willie, days prior.

Silly Frank, tricks are for kids, expect the unexpected! Willie went back on his word and put Frank up on the block next to Kara, pinning Dan and Boggie against each other. Smart move, I’m glad to see this season players aren’t wasting any time. Frank is a great player, with an athleticism and social game that would have been a huge threat down the road. Willie better hope he or his alliance wins the Power of Veto on Wednesday, or he’s made a strong enemy.
Do you guys think that was a smart move? What do you think of his nominations? Who would you have put up?
