I never heard a Whitney Houston interpolation that I didn’t like. And even though, Natalie La Rose‘s hit single, “Somebody” sampling Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me),” is catchier, I’m not mad at Bebe Rexha’s interpretation.
“So I have a single coming off of [the second half] called ‘The Way I Are’ featuring Lil Wayne and it’s… taken from the Whitney Houston song ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody,’” Bebe said in a radio interview. “So the hook is ‘I just wanna dance with somebody, I just wanna dance with somebody.’ So it’s really cool and Wayne does a crazy verse on it.”
“The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody)” is lifted off the 27-year-old singer‘s debut album, All Your Fault. She took the unique approach of splitting up her LP, with the first half arriving earlier this year. That set included the sassy “Fuck Fake Friends” and “I Got You.”
The accompanying visual for her Lil Wayne collaboration has arrived. Director X filmed the twosome, you guessed it, dancing with several backup dancers at some Hollywood backlot. It concludes with everyone playing the video game, Just Dance. Nice product placement 😉 Check out the clip below.
