Tale As Old As Time: Beastly

Sleeping Beauty isn’t the only Disney classic being remade. Beastly is a “modern-day take on the Beauty and the Beast tale where a New York teen is transformed into a hideous monster in order to find true love.” Starring Alex Pettyfer as Kyle Kingson, a wealthy, beautiful guy…on the outside, but a total jerk on the inside. He enjoys mocking the less attractive, loser classmates, and true to his reputation, asks a goth classmate named Kendra (Mary Kate Olsen – woohoo!) to go to this party with him. She accepts, and when she’s humiliated by him, she in turn casts a spell on him, physically manifesting everything he despises into his own appearance. The only way he can go back to his former self, is to find someone to fall in love with him as is.

Because he becomes so ugly, his father banishes him to a Brooklyn mansion with but a housekeeper (LisaGay Hamilton) and a blind tutor (Neil Patrick Harris). When he comes across a drug addict about to kill a threatening dealer, he proposes offering the addict freedom and protection for his daughter Lindy (Vanessa Hudgens), living in his Brooklyn mansion.

Not gonna lie, I want to see this movie – and mostly because Mary Kate Olsen (AKA Very Mary Kate) is in it.

Are you gonna watch this?
