Backstreet Boys Score Their First No. 1 Album In Nearly 20 Years

The last time Backstreet Boys stood atop the Billboard Top 200 was back in 2000. Nearly 20 years after Black & Blue took pole position, the boy band returns to the summit with their latest album, DNA, which debuts at No. 1 on the list.

According to Billboard, the LP earned 234,000 equivalent album units, 227,000 of which was traditional album sales. It’s the third No. 1 album of the group’s career, following Millennium in 1999 and the aforementioned Black & Blue in 2000.

Their return to the top is the longest gap between No. 1s for a group since 2010, when Sade returned to No. 1 with Soldier of Love after more than 24 years.

The Backstreet Boys are certainly experiencing a renaissance these days. They’re wrapping up their successful Las Vegas residency to prep for their massive world tour. It’ll be their biggest arena tour in 18 years. The quintet also received their first Grammy nomination in 17 years– “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Congrats to the boys!!! Check out their latest album below, along with the music videos from this era.
