On September 17, 2013 Avicii finally drops his debut album #True. The Swedish DJ recently debuted the music video for the awesome lead cut “Wake Me Up.” Given the surprising twang of the dance hit, the accompanying visual follows suit with a country-themed narrative. It follows a young woman leaving her small town for the promise and glamor of the big city. Naturally, she arrives to the metropolis on her horse.
As wicked as “Wake Me Up” is, the track I’m currently obsessed over is the Swedish producer’s collaboration with Adam Lambert. Avicii teased the track would be “very disco.” Based on the low-quality audio versions kicking on YouTube, I have to agree, but with an EDM twist. With the success of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Bruno Mars’ “Treasure,” going the disco route is a wise move. Check out Avicii’s “Wake Me Up” video below, along with a preview of “ID (Lay Me Down)” featuring Adam Lambert.
