Audrina Patridge may have not walked away with the mirrorball trophy this season, but she did score a consolation prize for appearing on “Dancing With The Stars“. Her long-rumored reality project is finally coming to fruition. The as-of-yet untitled collaboration with Mark Burnett has been picked up by VH1.

Originally the show was intended for MTV, but after the network passed, the project’s future was uncertain. That is until the power of appearing on DWTS worked its magic. It’s no wonder the dancing competition is the place to be, for celebrities to re-ignite their stalwart careers. Since it was originally filmed for MTV, it is expected to be retooled somewhat from the original series for the new network. It is expected to run 8 to 10 episodes.

After her shocking elimination (seriously that heffer Bristol Palin needs to leave), Patridge revealed the news to the press. Ironically enough, she told media that Burnett and her were going to make the announcement of VH1’s pickup tomorrow morning. Her new show will follow Audrina’s life in Hollywood and showcase her family. Sounds familiar right? She says it’s “everything that people always wondered about, they’re going to see,”. Actually what some people really want to see, she probably won’t show, i.e. her boobies for her straight male fans.

I’m bummed that Audrina was booted. She had lots of potential, but had no chance of winning. She did, however, have a great shot of reaching the semi-finals or finals. Since she placed second overall with the judges this week, voter complacency probably did her in. Hopefully she’ll have better luck on her new show being a success. With yesterday’s news about “The City” being canceled, it’s good to see a part of “The Hills” will live on with Audrina’s show.

Will you watch Audrina’s show? I know, I will. With Mark Burnett producing it, you know it’ll be beautifully produced and somewhat engaging. That man definitely has the Midas touch when it comes to making addicting reality shows.
