Victoria Monét and Ariana Grande are longtime friends. Monét even co-wrote six of the songs on Ari’s Thank U, Next album. For their latest collaboration, Victoria steps into the spotlight and sings along with her BFF.
“Monopoly” is a trap-inspired bop about not giving two effs about your ex. The song compares girls to the classic board game. “Outta here with that fuckery. Treat my goals like property. Collect them like Monopoly,” they sing on the catchy production.
Since its release yesterday, the track has caused a bit of a stir with many thinking Ari has come out as bisexual with the line, “I like women and men (yeah).” Grande responded and addressed the rumors by responding to a fan’s comment. Read it below.
