Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next’ Slips To No. 2 But Breaks YouTube Record

After a three-week run at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Thank U, Next” slips to No. 2. Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” narrowly beat it for the top spot. However, Ariana Grande’s massive hit has a strong chance of reclaiming pole position thanks to her viral clip for “Thank U, Next.” The streams count for the accompanying visual didn’t factor for this week’s chart but will for next week’s.

Speaking of the cameo-filled clip, “Thank U, Next” smashed the record for most views on YouTube in 24 hours. When all was said and done, the video generated 50.3 million views to set a new benchmark. The previous record holder was Korean boy band BTS with “Idol.”
