Since I’m just getting back after a weekend away celebrating a friend’s wedding, I’m playing a little catch up. Ergo this late post about Ariana Grande’s benefit concert, One Love Manchester. The event, which early reports claim raised $12 million and counting, provided too many great moments not to share.
The 23-year-old singer corralled an all-star lineup for the benefit concert including Justin Bieber, The Black Eyed Peas, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Marcus Mumford, Niall Horan, Little Mix, Katy Perry, Take That, Imogen Heap, Pharrell Williams, Robbie Williams and Liam Gallagher. While each gave memorable performances, the most standout moments, for me, involved Grande. Each time she took the stage, she poured her entire her heart into each note. She was visibly moved during every moment, even breaking into tears several times.
Her most moving performance was hands down her rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz. She delivered that at the end of the concert right after “One Last Time” where most of the artists joined her on stage to show their support. Check out my favorite moments below. You can watch the entire show in the last clip embedded.
