She almost reached the summit with “Bang Bang” and “No Tears Left to Cry” which peaked at No. 3. She came even closer with “Problem” which just missed the top slot at No. 2. At long last, she’s finally done it.
Ariana Grande can thank her exes for one more thing. Thanks to her past relationships, the 25-year-old singer snags her first Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper of her seven-year career with “Thank U, Next.” The single also becomes her 11th Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hit. “for once i don’t really have words 🖤1️⃣🌬 i love u so much and thank u,” Ari wrote on social media.
Grande dethrones Maroon 5 and Cardi B who held the No. 1 spot the past seven weeks with their smash hit “Girls Like You.” “Thank U, Next” launches with 55.5 million U.S. streams and 81,000 downloads sold in the week. It’s only the 32nd single to debut at No. 1 and the first by a female singer since Adele did it with “Hello” back in November 2015.
