After a few close calls with “Bang Bang,” “No Tears Left to Cry” and “Problem,” Ariana Grande finally snagged her first Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper with “Thank U, Next.” Now that she’s achieved that milestone, there’s no stopping the 25-year-old singer. She just snagged her second Billboard Hot 100 No. 1.
“7 Rings” enters the chart in pole position. It arrives with 85.3 million U.S. streams, the second-biggest week ever by a female artist. It trails only her own hit “Thank U, Next” which drew 93.8 million streams. Drake’s “In My Feelings” holds the overall record: 116.1 million.
With “7 Rings” debuting at No. 1, it’s only the 33rd single to achieve that feat. She’s only the fifth artist with multiple No. 1 starts. Mariah Carey leads the pack with three, while Justin Bieber, Drake and Britney Spears have two apiece.
It took some time for her to hit No. 1 but she’s definitely riding that momentum hard. Congrats to Ari.
