Argentina is known for being the most gay friendly of countries in South America. So, it’s only fitting that shortly, it will be launching it’s first gay television channel titled Friendly Mundo translated into English means Friendly World. While the station will piggyback off of another channel to begin, the future plan is to have Friendly Mundo provide 24/7 content with programming included from Europe and the United States.
During the first three months of it’s inception, the channel will broadcast three hours of domestically made programming. These 30 minute or 10 minute segmented shows include:
Cablevisión which is the largest pay-TV company in Argentina, will pick up the channel available on channel 90 for digital subscribers (from 11 PM) and channel 78 for analogue viewers (from 12 midnight). Guillermo Carpintero, marketing manager of Friendly Mundo, said: “Buenos Aires is synonym for culture and variety – a friendly city. Argentina is a friendly country. Latin America knows that, which is why this new channel will be received with great expectation in a range of markets. The channel will also be available in HD (high definition) and has already received multiple commercial requests. Go Argentina!

i don t think buenos aires is a friendly city at all. argentinian people either. at the airport after immigration procedure i went for my poodle and i heard from the man in charge that i look like simeone s wife(known here for her fit body ensembling a masculine figure). gays here are not living an open life. the argentinian macho is a propaganda that doesn t fit reality. middle aged women in this country are very repressive and their daughters are going the same. you can see a lot of “putos” (means young boys who fuck for money) 99% of them have a girlfriend. friendly mundo is more an upgrade on services for foreigners than a conquest on gay rights.
